Foundations. Fire. Rebirth.

The ultimate aim of an anchored life isn't just to survive the changing elements. It is to become a Steward—honoring the soil, governing your unique gifts, and lifting those you encounter along the way.

We move through the natural seasons of Ground, Grit, and Grace not for the sake of outward achievement alone, but to reach the pinnacle of true Growth—where our influence, our resources, and our stories are used to serve a purpose far larger than ourselves.

The Founder | Forged for the Journey

My truest credentials aren’t found on a resume; they were forged in the fire of lived experience. While my discipline was tempered as an Air Force SERE Specialist and my strategy polished through years in Operations and HR, I have learned that true leadership requires more than technical mastery. It requires the wisdom earned only by navigating the hardships of your own wilderness.

The Naked Soul

As a lover of adventure and epic stories of survival, I find the words of Antarctic explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton resonate deeply: “We had seen God in His splendors, heard the text that Nature renders. We had reached the naked soul of man.”

I have walked that path—both in the literal wild and through the landscapes of professional burnout and personal trial. I believe it is only when we are stripped to the soul that the beauty of our struggle and the timeless truths of our design are revealed.

The Anchor: Faith & Reconciliation

This "stripping down" is where my faith and my work meet. The further into the wild I go, the more I am forced to reconcile my own strength with the laws of the Creator. In the moments where I recognize the limits of my own power, I encounter the infinite sovereignty of God. My perspective is rooted in this Christian foundation—refined by my own missteps, stumbles, outright faceplants and the many times I hit the “self destruct” button.

When the ground shifted, my faith was the one unshakeable bedrock that allowed me to take root again. Ground & Grow is fueled by my story of being reclaimed; it is proof that no one is ever too far into the wilderness to find their way home.

Today, I translate that lived experience into a roadmap for others. I built Ground & Grow to be more than just a waypoint for the weary; I built it to provide the structural renovation required for a life of consequence.

My work is anchored in the Heartwood Constitution—a four-cornerstone architecture of Ground, Grit, Grace, and Grow.

These convictions are more than concepts; they are the essence of my coaching philosophy and the foundation of internal governance required to navigate your specific terrain with clarity and conviction. Whether you are orienting to your inner compass for the first time or stewarding a global mission at a new altitude, I provide the structural integrity required to reach the next summit with your soul intact.

I won’t help you climb;I provide a personalized partnership to help you fortify your core and steward your unique gifts through three core offerings:

  • The Well: Artisanal tools and curated physical provisions designed to nourish your heartwood and sustain your momentum.

  • Guidance: Human-centered mentorship for navigating complex life transitions and architecting a legacy of impact.

  • The Fire Circle: A dedicated space for community, connection, and shared wisdom.

In a world of shifting soil, we help you build deep roots,
-Amber

The Wild Sanctuary & The Heartwood Charter

I believe that the natural world is a vital partner in our healing and our growth. Nature offers a unique form of sensory restoration—a landscape that invites being and creativity. The wild invites us to reconcile our thoughts by removing noise and distraction. Here, we organically cultivate the flow state needed to bridge the gap between reflection and action. More importantly, the forest teaches us that seasons are necessary and that sustainable growth cannot be rushed. By aligning our internal rhythms with the timeless laws of the nature, we find that our core alignment remains constant even when the world outside feels chaotic.

My methodology is built upon this very truth. Much like a tree’s strength lies in its roots and its structural integrity - layered, functional rings built to survive the elements, the Heartwood Charter applies these concepts to personal growth and development forming a living framework for human resilience. Utilizing four concentric growth rings - Ground, Grit, Grace and Grow, we form the internal governance required to weather the seasons on journey of life while planting seeds along the way.

The Anchor and the Root

Strength alone is not enough to survive the storm. For any canopy to expand, it must be supported by a root system that reaches into a source deeper than the soil itself. While I provide the human-centered guidance for your journey through the growth rings of the Heartwood Charter, I invite you to examine your Anchor.

Whether you call it faith, a higher purpose, or a spiritual bedrock, your "roots" are what nourish and sustain your heartwood when resources are scarce. My work is to support your internal governance; your work is to ensure your Anchor is secure.

A Note on the Terrain

These growth rings are not a linear checklist to be completed, nor do they develop in isolation. They form a fluid, living ecosystem inside you. In any given season, you may find yourself fortifying the rugged outer armor of your Grit to absorb external friction, while simultaneously needing the deep, life-giving restoration of Grace to mend a brittle core.

Our work together is to slow down, study the elements, and recognize which specific ring or rings require attention in your current season. By listening to the natural rhythm of your growth, we ensure you remain balanced and vibrant, even as the ground beneath you shifts.

GROUND | The Heartwood Growth Ring

  • The Anatomy: The first ring at the dead-center of the tree. It is the dense, hardened core of the trunk formed by every season you have already survived. It is entirely unmoving, providing the absolute structural foundation for the rest of the tree.

  • The Work: We move through the process of "firming the soil"—dismantling external noise to reconnect with your primary intuition. Before you begin branching out, we ensure you are standing on your own authority, anchored to your primary source.

  • The Mantra: #depthoverdistance

GRIT | The Fortitude Growth Ring

The Anatomy: The rugged exterior bark and protective cambium layer. This is the rough, high-grit shield that takes the direct beating from the elements, handles the environmental friction, and absorbs external shocks to protect the life inside.

  • The Work: We build the internal infrastructure required to stay centered during life's volatile seasons. This is the mental and emotional endurance that prevents an individual from breaking under pressure—the capacity to face the friction of the wild, absorb the hits, and hold the line.

  • The Mantra: #hardaswoodpeckerlips

GRACE | The Sapwood Growth Ring

  • The Anatomy: The middle, sensitive layer of the tree. This is the vital sapwood where life-giving nutrients and water actively flow up from the roots to nourish, heal, and sustain the organism. Without this flexible, responsive ring, the tree becomes brittle and snaps.

  • The Work: We practice the art of the mend—the intentional recovery of the soul and the healthy regulation of the nervous system. Grace is the permission to pause, creating the vital space where creativity is found rather than forced. By honoring the mend, we ensure your inner ecosystem remains vital and resilient.

  • The Mantra: #savortheseason

GROW | The Canopy and Bearing Fruit

The Anatomy: The visible crown of the tree—the leaves, the expanding branches, and the harvest that provides shade, shelter, and fuel for the surrounding ecosystem.

  • The Work: We guide all aspects of outward expansion, translating high-capacity doing into high-impact stewardship. We ensure your visible canopy never outpaces your internal foundation, bridging the gap between achievement and true authority so the world you build is one you can sustainably inhabit.

  • The Mantra: #thegivingground

PERSONAL GOVERNANCE: The Internal Current

Perspective is the ultimate provision. At Ground & Grow, Personal Governance (Mindset) is the life-giving current that flows through every single ring of your character. It is the mental fluidity and internal authority that ensures your core stays anchored, your internal rhythms stay steady, and your focus remains clear through changing climates.

  • The Mantra: #mindsetinmotion

Our Sourcing Philosophy: Rooted in Purpose

At Ground & Grow, we believe that the soul of an object is found in its origin. How a thing is made is just as vital as the purpose it serves or the joy it brings. We don't just "stock products"—we curate provisions for the journey, ensuring every item in our collection is as intentional as the life you are building.

Artisan Made & US-Based

We believe in the power of the local forge and the quiet studio. We intentionally partner with small, US-based businesses that prioritize ethical craftsmanship and eco-friendly manufacturing to the greatest extent possible. From the wheel-thrown ceramics that hold your morning coffee to the organic teas that soothe your nervous system, our goods are hand-crafted by skilled artisans who share our commitment to quality, conscience, and the "slow grow" movement.

Purposeful, Not Plentiful

In a world of shallow soil and disposable goods, we choose depth. We strive to maximize the impact of every dollar while minimizing our footprint on the earth. You won’t find excessive plastic, "filler" items, or excessive throwaway packaging here. Instead, we lean into multi-use, for-purpose design. Whether it’s a natural jute and leather tote or a vibrant tea towel that serves as a soft liner today and a kitchen essential tomorrow, our provisions are built to last.

A Legacy of Kindness

When you bring a Ground & Grow piece into your home or office, you aren't just making a purchase; you are supporting a vast network of independent makers, organic farmers, and small-batch creators. We view this as a legacy of kindness. It is our way of ensuring that the "growth" we champion extends far beyond the individual—it reaches the hands and homes of the people who poured their heart into the craft.
